Alia’s Story

My husband left me with two children and no means of support.  I was new to the area and felt very vulnerable.  I didn't speak very good english and felt very alone.  FFN were a life line.  They helped me with the practical things I had to get done, but they also gave me so much emotional support.

I would not have known where to turn to when my life fell apart, if it hadn't been for FFN.  The befriender that FFN put in place for me has become like part of the family.  They have done so much to help me move on in my life and which has now helped me see the way ahead alot clearer.

Receiving support from FFN is very different from other organisations, it's more than just support.  You really do feel that you are valued and that genuine friendships and relationships ar being built.

Myself and my children went along to a residential family weekend. I was so encouraged, we had such a lovely time and a real break.  I have lots of issues still to face on my journey but I know that I am not alone - I have the support of FFN!
